To promote the Marietta Council of Garden Clubs objective of encouraging civic beautification and conservation 2 recycling bins have been placed at the Marietta Educational Garden Center located at 505 Kennesaw Ave, Marietta, GA 30060. Something is missing right in the middle of Glover Park!
Glover Park fountain to undergo restoration 2/21/2011 The popular fountain at the center of Glover Park on the Marietta Square will be removed the week of February 21 for a complete restoration. Robinson Iron, the original manufacturer, will transport the fountain to Alabama for 4-6 weeks so the internal and external parts can be fully restored. The fountain will return to the Square by the first week of April, in time for the many popular events and activities that gear up at the end of the month. Citizens who watched with interest as the fountain was painted last year might wonder why it is being removed now. “While preparing the fountain for operation now that the weather has warmed, the staff cleaning the upper bowl noticed significant movement that had not been present before,” … Read entire article »

A grand old tree is no accident, Marietta Tree Keepers plant on purpose!
Trees are really cool, literally. They are cool to look at and they produce shade which helps keep things cool in the summer. They do cool things to reduce pollution and control water runoff. And when it’s cool outside, it’s the perfect time to plant them. It’s during this time of year when Marietta Tree Keepers (MTK) is busy hosting planting events to get trees in the ground. For the hundred plus volunteers that make up the organization, it’s a great time to get out of the house and take in some fresh air, exercise and good vibrations, while making a big difference to the local environment.
