Marietta Rotarians sponsor Kennesaw State University Rotaract Club
Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Kennesaw State University has its own “Rotary in Action” or Rotaract. It is a subsidiary of Rotary Clubs International and is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Marietta.
Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are either community or university based, and they’re sponsored by a local Rotary club. This makes them true “partners in service” and key members of the family of Rotary.
All Rotaract efforts begin at the local, grassroots level, with members addressing their communities’ physical and social needs while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service.
The KSU club originates from Spring of 2009 under the leadership of Past President Adele Grubbs and has been given new life under President Mark Barbour and its KSU advisor, Debra Day. The student officers include Cynthia Hosford, President; Jessica Piazza, Vice President; Kamna Malhotra, Secretary and Taz Ahmed, Treasurer.
This fine group of KSU students will be formally inducted into office by The Rotary Club of Marietta. The program will allow the students to witness first hand the great meeting protocol that has been a part of the Rotary tradition for decades. It will be yet another great day to be a Rotarian!

Charlotte,
First, I love the Marietta Gazetta! What a great idea and a great way to share good news and compelling stories that interests Mariettans. Further, I have a great sense of pride in knowing that as a KSU alum, such as yourself, has chosen to partner with KSU by helping us spread the news about what and how we are doing. Thanks Charlotte!
